OUR BEGINNINGS
Hello, I am Jeremy.
For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated with numbers. I have been very lucky to have a family who primarily worked in the financial sector so I never had a lack of an interested adult who would humour me when I wanted to play number games.
It was in this supportive environment that I developed an interest to invest my savings to make my money work for me. What started out as setting aside the remaining change from my weekly pocket money, turned into a passion for finding various means to accumulate wealth. I learned along the way that it is insufficient to just know how to accumulate wealth. It is also imperative to understand how to sustain it’s growth.
I started my career in the banking industry with United Overseas Bank (UOB) in International Trade Services and it has since then become a 12 year journey, subsequently with DBS Bank in Treasury & Markets Operations. In the same time, I also completed my Master’s Degree in Finance.
I have helped numerous friends begin their financial journey by sharing what I have learnt about financial planning and personally, feel a deep sense of fulfillment when we are able to witness significant progress in achieving their financial goals.
At the encouragement of my family and friends, I have now decided in 2020, to embark on the next stage of my career in financial consultancy.
My hope for Growing Wallets is that this will become a platform to advocate the importance of financial literacy. Through future sharings, I hope to have a positive impact to help inspire others to take charge of their financial health.
